Community Tasting Notes 6

October 13, 2011 - Washington Tasters Guild - 1996 Burgundy Dinner (Poste - Washington, DC): This had an incredibly green nose with the burnt ladybug smell I grew accustomed to going to school in rural Ohio. Couldn't get passed this note....very off-putting.

May 14, 2011 - Light ruby with slight browning at the edges. Cherry liquor with surprising intensity on the nose. Red cherry dominates with moderate tannins and considerable acidity. Not much in the way of secondary flavors. A pleasant wine, but fairly simple.

February 24, 2010 - Spot on, but still can hold on for a few years. But why wait? Don't think it'll get any better. Beautiful nose of sweet cherries, nice length, dry finish. Excellent pairing with salmon with crab stuffing at Bistro Bisou wine group dinner

January 1, 2009 - Cherry notes with bright acidity. Improved as time went on. Still needs more time before it's fully developed. Not for fans of lush, big, high alcohol pinots.

August 22, 2003 - Tasted double-blind at Vintage Wines, Ltd. Bottle provided by Marshall Banker. Bright disc. Deep ruby robe with red rim (and some slight bricking). Intense nose of smoke, kirsch and exotic spices. Medium-bodied on the palate, with prominent acidity and medium, dry tannins. Similar flavors as for the nose. Long, slightly dry finish. Very nice, but needs more time.
