  February 7, 2017 - Very unusual profile - savory and sour cherry, a bit musty in style but attractive. The concentration of fruit is beautiful; lots of blackberry and milk chocolate. I had the '01 cab recently, and there is a surprising similarity in style across both wines - there is definitely a house style. Some would really like this but it's not for everyone.

  June 25, 2006 - Well... this wine has toned down a bit and become quite civilized. Smooth, lush and flavorful. A bit short on the finish, but a nice, full bodied merlot.

  July 22, 2004 - Dark and deep, concentrated. But turning bitter on the finish and only getting more bitter as we worked our way through the bottle. Will this wine turn into something beautiful? Might as well let the others sit for a couple years to see. Otherwise Behrens remains a mystery to me.

  May 11, 2001 - Dark plum in color. Very youthful. Lots of cherries, plums and raspberries. Some spice and mocha, with some noticeable oak. Perhaps a bit chunky. Quite a sunstantial finish. Very nice wine that needs time to integrate.
