May 14, 2014 - Decanted and poured, dinner at L'appart. A strong nose wafted across the counter as Olivier emptied the bottle into the decanter. Red fruit, super ripe and extracted, as well as tree bark, forest floor and something menthol-like on the nose. Truly medium bodied on the palate, but substantial. Red fruit, some earthy mid-palate, super grippy finish.
2nd hour: With food, candied cherries coming on strong, though things seemed to come up a bit short on the finish.
2-3 years left, unless you want a more old-world style, super-aged wine, take it another 7! -
