August 5, 2017 - Not a pop and pour, needs to breathe but opens up to a fantastically complex red. Took it to our annual 'best wine under $100' challenge and it won hands down on blind tasting. Drinking well now.

January 11, 2017 - Após mais de dez anos de envelhecimento em garrafa, o vinho foi decantado para que pudesse aerar e também separar a grande quantidade de borra do líquido. A rolha já estava bastante prejudicada, mas nada que pudesse afetar o vinho. Na taça, o vinho se mostrou vermelho rubi, quase negro, com bastante evolução, frutas negras maduras (ameixa preta). No paladar, inicialmente o final na boca quase incomodou com um pouco de amargor, mas 10 mins depois o vinho ficou ainda melhor e já não se percebia isso. Ele tem bastante estrutura, as uvas já está estão pra lá de madura e acredito que este ano seja o ultimo da janela para degusta-lo em seu auge, pois já começa a entrar na descendente.

May 15, 2015 - Decanted for one hour. Could have done more. Continued to evolved while 6 of us drank the mag with Spanish Tapas. Second bottle was a CA semi-cult ($120.00 Score 97) The Lota held it's own. Very dark purple colour. Spices.toast and blackberries. Good structure and a medium finish.

September 16, 2011 - I´m doing this tasting note the day after i drank it...was really good wine ,but not what i really like, was too sweet..too much caramel..to much oak i think i would not pay the price to drink it again, may be a 1/3 of the price Ok
