April 23, 2023 - This was better than some of the older vintages of this wine we had recently.
We used half the bottle for a coq au vin. The rest was great, as well as the 2nd bottle we ended up opening.
    Medium garnet.
Nose started to open up after an hour. Quite intense, Cherry liqueur, dried flower, some cola notes. This time much less noticeable than on older vintage.
Medium body, soft and silky,no tannins left. sweet dried black cherries flavours, iron tinged dried herbs. Excellent length with a sweet dried fruit aftertaste.

December 25, 2021 - Decanted and poured. Aromas of cranberry, dried cherry, mushroom, earth and dried strawberry . Flavors of dried cherry, dried strawberry, mushroom, beet and earth. Ends with a long finish of 35+ seconds with berry and earth notes. This was perfectly stored since release and still had some tannin on it. No where near fading.

January 27, 2020 - Paired with Salmon seasoned with Tarragon and the wine showed beautifully - it is in a beautiful place right now but could easily drink well for five more years. Nice balance of fruit and acidity with some slight peppery notes. Really well balanced. A 1995 Corton Grand Cru burgundy was on the table which was in a mellow place, muted - the Williams Selyem shined.

September 11, 2019 - Similar notes as previous tasting one year ago

August 25, 2019 - I am clearly an outlier here - not surprising as I have yet to open one of these WS pinots I bought at release that I have enjoyed. The style is just not for me. I found this to be red fruited with a cloying sweetness (cherry cola) that kicks in mid-palate. Just not enough acidity to achieve balance for my palate.
