May 12, 2013 - Wonderful wine, probably the best CA chard I've ever had. Tropical aromas of pineapple, mango, and citrus fruits. On the palate, a steely minerality is upfront, which I found to be very crisp and precise. This is a light wine with an impressive amount of acidity. The finish reveals a very restrained oak presence, manifesting as the slightest bit of coconut and vanilla, but even these flavors are largely in the background. It was just a great balance between fruit, oak, and acid, and a refreshing change of pace from the big buttery bruisers that typify most of what comes out of CA.
