Tony Molester Does not like this wine:
January 14, 2022 - Single piece cork, no sign of seepage.
Very fine sediment.
Decanted for 1h.
Crimson, good clarity.
Nose has barnyard, some secondary development.
Drying tannins, some secondary complexity, but overall a bit short and lacking charm.
Palate has some brett, texture is quite acidic, a bit mineral with some leanness.
Nothing overly convincing beyond the pedigree of the producer.
Nice but not worth ageing, would be a good weeknight wine, yet a disappointing weekend wine, if that resonates with anyone.
Drink up, fruit seems dried up.

January 24, 2020 - Superb fully mature and fantastically complex. Rich and broad yet somehow delicate too. Very fine vineyard wine.

January 15, 2020 - It’s hard to follow Xavier Auerbach’s tasting notes..but I’ll try....this is a wonderful example of aged Grenache, in a great place now. Beguiling dark red fruit aromas with some garrigue which becomes more prevalent with time. Both dark plum fruits (not at all stewed) in the mouth integrated with delightful red fruit overtones. A little garrigue, and some well integrated tannin giving body. All with great balancing acidity. Splendid.

July 11, 2017 - A blend of 75% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, short maceration (only eight days), 12 months in barrique, bottled without fining or filtration, 13% ABV, released October 2010. Having tasted five vintages of Clos Milan so far (2000, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007), I can say with confidence that in general terms the style is quite old-fashioned, structured and tannic (especially for a Grenache-dominated wine) rather than supple and ingratiating, savoury and tertiary rather than fruit-forward, but there are clear differences among the different vintages - in fact a certain variability seems to be part and parcel of this vigneron's natural approach. This 2006 has more sève than some other vintages, even if the tannins are pretty tight, and in conjunction this brings an attractive lightness and finesse to this otherwise sturdy wine. Long finish, hint of cold tea. Drinking well now, will last another five years.

February 2, 2014 - AG Tasting with G: Good wine which reminded me a little bit of a Brunello. Some chocolate notes with prunes. Tannic. Needs time.
