June 9, 2011 - {screwcap, 14.5%} Dark ruby. Youthful, rather riotous nose of macerated red berries and vanilla oak. Not too bad, although young. The palate is rather coarse, with soft but rather gritty tannins, and a rustic but rather bulk/commercial quality to the fairly short finish. It's not a very pretty wine at all, not especially varietal (I tasted it blind, and rather thought it was warm climate shirz), nor terribly interesting. SLightly crude commercial effort.

March 20, 2011 - Great structure, with good balance of ripe fruit, alcohol, texture and acidity. A little sweet and lacks the complexity, but delicious nonetheless. Black currant, tobacco, plum and oak dominate the palate. Drink now until 2019.
