March 23, 2011 - Deep cherry, no signs of age. Young and forward on the nose, eager to please, good hallmark wild raspberry backed up by undergrowth. Full bodied, fleshy yet cool on the palate. More delicate fruits and good acidity somehow manages to mask the rather hefty alcohol. The oak is well integrated and the wine finishes long and balanced. Excellent value. Drink now.

The house style continues to surprise me. The scales tell me heavyweight, yet the wines fight welterweight class, light-footed and agile. I wonder if it would be possible to turn down the alcohol just a notch, keep the phenolic ripeness but cut the sugar level slightly? Nevertheless, promising stuff.
