November 12, 2023 - A magnificent Mas de Daumas Gassac vertical from the private cellars of Allard Jakobs (Restaurant Sinck, Amsterdam, NL): Single bottle. Huge tannins but the aromas are not stewed or jammy, benefited from the cold air from the massif central, alcohol (13.5% ABV) is not excessive, hint of liquorice on the finish. Not a great Gassac but a very competent one.

July 15, 2023 - I last tasted this in 2007 and noted little fruit, tannic and needs 10 years. Well 16 years later the tannins have dissipated and the little fruit there was has really not developed. A bit harsh and really cannot see this developing.

May 5, 2023 - Last of 6 bottles of 2003. I've been pretty lucky with them given my perception that Gassac isn't the most consistent in this era. Anyway, attractive nose of mellowed red fruits and tannins finally totally resolved.

March 22, 2023 - Much improved on a bottle I tasted 5 years ago. Now fully mature and a fantastic bottle of wine: soft fresh fruits with perfect acidity, and the tannins have faded away.
