January 9, 2021 - The cork had me worried with streaks all the way up. Cork cracked, but didn't break at bottom. Decanted wine for 45 mins. Color was there, so was reassured it hadn't spoiled. This wine still has a nice acidity, but it's losing the big flavor.
Nice dark ruby red color. Not a heavy nose, but light smokey cherries and anise. Bright red fruit up front on palate, but carries throughout with nice tannins. Big raspberry and licorice up front, smooths out in middle and builds back with added green pepper, blackberries, andacidity and tannins. Nice wine, but debating on if it can go longer - the wine isn't big fruit of before, but the acidity is definitely plenty.

April 5, 2020 - Another broken cork about three quarters down. Decanted for an hour. This one should drink soon. Color is very dark still. Little heat left on nose work smokey licorice. Flavors seemed faded from past notes. Still big heavy red, but missing some of the abundant fruit.

January 10, 2020 - Unfiltered. Dark agate red color. Nose of lite licorice, chocolate and dark cherries nose with some heat.
Big jammy flavors up front dark fruit and cherries. Nice black pepper spice and light licorice. Soft tannins throughout.
Hangs on palate for a LONG time.
Finishes with some cranberries, chrries, grasses, celery and woody notes
Opens up to more cherry and black fruit over time, smooths out even more with some time/decanting.

August 1, 2019 - It may be time to open these. This one had a bad cork, almost disintegrated on opening. Color its still there, but faint initial nose of a bottle gone bad. Decanted it for 30 mins and it almost came back fully. After 45 mins, it was alive. Nose of cherries, grasses, and wood. Very dry on palate with raspberries, dark cherries, cranberries and smoke. Tight silky tannins at finish with subtle bright red fruit. I'm hoping other 2 bottles are still good.

April 23, 2017 - This is ready to go now. Lovely black fruit, smooth integrated tannins. Paired well with T-Bone steak.
