August 10, 2018 - Bought 6b for 13/b from a local retailer six years ago. Recall from my first bottle at the time that this was rich, dark, full bodied (I have some '09 Alpha Crux which is more reticent, probably more ageworthy). Decant with normal sediment for its age. Rich dark color, fragrant mature fruit nose, full bodied with some fading of the fruit and did not improve during the meal. 15% ABV. I'll try another, hoping that it's holding better than it seems. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation: I've stopped giving scores on a "100-point scale" as I've become less convinced that they can be meaningful to others. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. I considered this notable when considering quality, age, and price (might add a "+" if the next bottle is better).

August 10, 2018 - Bought six at 12.5/b from a local retailer six years ago. I recall being particularly impressed with the quality for price with my first bottle about one year later and bought a 6-pack of the Alfa Crux (malbec, I think, not the blend--don't recall the vintage) for under 20/b shortly thereafter (have tried two--relatively closed both times, waiting for awakening). The Beta Crux tonight was my third, I believe. Decanted but no sediment. Beautiful dark color, fragrant red fruit with a hint of cooked, very good mouthfeel and good fruit but with some pluminess. We drank this on a warm, humid night; and the wine had warmed a bit from cellar temp. I believe it would show better in colder weather at cellar temp, but I think it's peaked--won't improve and might start to decline (GFB1 might be right, but I want to try again). I considered this outstanding- the first bottle, but it was barely notable+ today when considering quality, age, and price.

January 28, 2017 - Beyond optimal drinking window. Two years ago, it exhibited vibrant promise. Today, it is more tired than mature

December 10, 2015 - Some of the best Tempranillo wine I've ever put in my mouth. Serve it with steak, lamb, any red meat, grilled or sautéed. It stands up!! Where o WHERE can I find more??

February 16, 2015 - needs air to soften. Quite pleasant on the tongue, especially on night two. Red fruit. Probably better with food.
