  August 28, 2008 - The intense fruit and green pepper I remember have faded. Still, the wine is enjoyable with plum, raspberry, red currant, spice, and oak. Fairly smooth. Pairing with food helps the palate not get bored with the wine being kind of one-dimensional.

  October 2, 2006 - Decanted 1/2-hour before serving. Color was a brick-red throughout with some fading at the rim. Nose was expressive but monolithic, powerful oak and red fruits but no real complexity. Outstanding fruit and rich palate. Long finish of coffee and chocolate as expected. All in all, a delicious drink that lacked the complexity for an outstanding score.

  October 3, 2003 - Deep blackish ruby, lots of charred oak on nose, spicy oak, hints of red & black fruit, caramel, toast, b3+, a3+, t3, sweet & thick on palate, slightly hot & bitter (wood?) finish, glassy smooth, too much wood
