February 12, 2016 - Wine of purity and richness in a masterful balance. Lush sweet citrus fruit leveled by soft but penetrating acidity. Very long and clean finish. A pleasure.

October 29, 2015 - Delicious. Nose of lemon zest, key lime, crushed slate, and a hint of petrol. The palate is fresh and filled with energy, loads of citrus and minerality with a touch of honeysuckle. Really good and a very good value.

September 23, 2015 - Minerals with citrus on the nose and palate. Beautiful balance. Light and long with just 8.5% alcohol. Perfect with smoked cold fishes to break holiday fast. Never had a bad bottle from this producer.

(Dönnhoff Kreuznacher Krötenpfuhl Riesling Kabinett) Very light green-tinged yellow color; nice, lifted, green apple, lime, citrus nose; tasty, poised ripe peach, tart citrus, mineral palate; medium-plus finish

(Dönnhoff Kreuznacher Krötenpfuhl Riesling Kabinett) ($25.00) Krötenpfuhl is like Dellchen would be if that riddlesome vineyard ever decided to explain itself. Soy, honey mushrooms, leaf smoke, stock and prosciutto; warmer, deeper-voiced; this one really laughs boisterously, but is also nobody’s fool.
