May 22, 2022 - Popped and poured in Copake yesterday. I've had this wine before and it remains enjoyable, though getting on in years. Lots of cherries on the nose and palate. On the light side, spicy with some herbal notes. Fruit is starting to fade.

December 10, 2020 - PnP for first nite of Chanukah. Generous cherry fruit aromas on the nose. Light to medium body, still good red fruit, some spice and good length. Not particularly complex but still very pleasant wine.

July 10, 2020 - Popped and poured. Pale pinkish color, some browning at the edges. Bright cherry aromas mostly. Light to medium body, some red fruit, spicy and a little smoke. A little past its prime.

February 28, 2017 - 50th Birthday Celebration Dinner with Wine (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Late night pop-and-pour. Very pleasant bright re fruit aromas. Similar flavors, slightly simple and a faint bitter note on the finish that was a slight distraction.

October 4, 2011 - w/Mike Grammer@Soul Flavors, Jersey City. Well this is quite a treat for a number of reasons. Certainly one of the better 2007's I've had. This was more or less popped and poured. Dense black cherry fruits, spice, tar/earth and some stems. There is definitely some oak to it but it really wasn't present early and only came out with the last sips I'm taking now after being open 5 hrs. It's a deep, rich, complex, layered, abundant wine that should hold well for at least a decade and all the uproar over these wines about spoilage before time of delivery should be cast aside if all the wines came from this source. Thanks to Gil Bauer for taking the plunge with the HAG and hanging in there to receive some good wines!
