November 8, 2009 - Not bad. Consumed after a '01 Sanford Pinot which was preferred by all in the group - probably for it's more fruit and less earthy characteristics.

October 23, 2009 - Why will there always be a burgundy, or at least a clive coates? Because who else is crazy enough to sort through the ridiculous labeling and attempt to get it right? Les Monts Luisants is a Magnien lieu-dit in Morey, but it's also a premier cru vineyard for the same proprietor and others, also in Morey. It took me 20 minutes to figure out that I needed to create a new wine and then to enter it properly. This is full of red-berried and spicy fruit with engaging acids, although the oak appears somewhat obtrusive on the finish. It's got a nice intensity for what, after all my investigation, turns out to be a villages wine . It is ready to drink now and I don't think it will improve much, especially if the oak doesn't integrate any better from here.
