June 24, 2022 - Very dark purple /red color. PNP, drank a glass over 2 hours. The nose is ripe, bold and big with brambly black and blue fruits. The palate shows sweet blackberry, very dense and extracted, mulberry, dark chocolate, strong black pepper, blackberry liqueur, oak, still some firmness on the tannins and finishes off tart. Holds its 15.2% ABV well. Clearly many enjoy this style, but for me it just comes off monolithic and too in your face.

September 13, 2021 - Opened this during a wine dinner at East Treasure with my wine mates. No theme for the evening.

Dark, inky purple in colour. On the nose, the wine exhibits notes of rich, ripe plums, eucalyptus, vanilla, berry juice, and chocolate milk. The palate is enticing, with rich, creamy notes coupled with red fruits and an expressive, extensive finish.

Great wine, in my opinion. Drinking very well at 12 years of age; its peak performance might go on for another 10 years or more.

February 17, 2021 - Opened this wine at Crystal Jade Dining In @ Vivo City with a very close ex-colleague. We had wagyu beef, kurobuta pork, stir-fried chinese spinach, steamed cod fish and ee-fu noodles.

Solid purple colour with notes of sweet vanilla, cream, ripe berries, juicy plums and milk chocolate. Wine was jumpy and excited upon opening; the energy calmed down 30 minutes after opening to present a more harmonous and charming profile. Pleasing, soothing on the palate and comforting on the soul.

A more mature expression as compared to the Zippy's Block. Brooding, expressive and delightful.

    Fantastic wine.

August 1, 2020 - Opened this at home to welcome my FYP mate and her husband. We ordered dinner from New Ubin Seafood: ribeye, fries, fried rice, kailan, cereal prawns, omelette, har cheong chicken and hokkien mee.

Brooding brickish purple, with a lovely red fruit-scented aroma. Rich plums with ripe raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and mocha, fresh leather, grounded spices, with a sweet finish that resembled cream and figs.

Power with restraint, coupled with a beautiful charm and grace; this wine is highly delectable at this stage and rewards patience for the past 10 years with immense enjoyment. Best shared with family or close friends, and experience the amazing journey of transformation this powerful blockbuster underwent.

April 28, 2020 - Drank over a few hours. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purple colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of menthol, eucalyptus mint, asphalt, dark grilled herbs, blackberries, black cherries, black plums. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, high alcohol (15.2% not that apparent actually), smooth fine high tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of blackberries, black cherries, black plums, menthol, eucalyptus, asphalt. Long satisfying finish.
Very good quality. Maybe not as layered or in your face outstanding as some of the best out there, but certainly pretty good already. Chockful of black fruit flavour with good control. In a good place already.
