March 5, 2022 - Académie des Cinquante Claret Tasting (Restaurant Rijsel, Amsterdam, NL): Tasted blind. Magnum. Completely mature, carries the warmth of the vintage well, tannins are firm but ripe, green streak on the finish.

C: Garnet rim, fully mature.
N: Not much; slightly gamey with a backnote of spearmint.
T: Rich, fat and soft-textured, with baked flavours of plums, leather and fruitcake underpinned with a note of brett. Lacking acidity and freshness developing an unpleasant bitter note on finish.
I: Way past its best; very soft and lacks freshness. Marred further, by talc and astringency developing on the finish -
