Community Tasting Notes 4

  • wa2ofd Likes this wine:

January 22, 2023 - Much better than the last time. Nose not very giving. Red fruit, solid finish.

  • wa2ofd Does not like this wine:

June 5, 2020 - Cough medicine on the nose. Dark fruit. Odd nose seemed to just not blow off, even as it sat decanted for a few hrs...This wine was well stored. Believe the heat of 03 has something to do with outcome here.

December 1, 2018 - A bit brown on the colour - not giving a lot on the nose - we know that 2003 is a difficult year - but this wine is actually doing well - medium tannins and acidity - both are affecting the balance of the wine - the fruit is cherries and some strawberries. - this is still a nice wine but I do not see a lot of further development. The acidity and the tannins combined with the fruit is actually giving the wine some freshness, that I did not expect - but is actually quite nice - and therefore I am ending at 91.

December 24, 2013 - decanted and poured and drank right away. had it after a 02 magnien bonnes mares. this had brighter red fruit, higher acidity - a bit more tart - finish not as long. very good but the 02 magnien bonnes mares was the clear winner. given the acidity my guess is it could age another 5 years and develop more secondary flavors and complexity.
