March 19, 2011 - no question about it, a very good wine. But if that were served blind, I wonder how many people would have guessed it as Burgundy. The color, the nose, as of yet, the earthy, leathery, deep ripe fruits, the round, smooth texture etc... would have lead many, many passionate wine lovers towards the northern Rhone. I personally would have guessed it somewhere around Cote Rotie, which I very much like it anyway! I guess the style of the maker, the vintage, the village all got together to give such a profile. By the way, I think this would be much better in about a good 5 years time. Still very closed nose, on the palate a very 'vin gourmand'.

October 7, 2010 - Good Burgundy. Smooth with a nice balance of earthy flavors and fruit. Great mouthfeel. The clear WOTN.

January 18, 2009 - encore très jeune, fruits très mûrs, vin plaisir mais assez loin du pinot classique

July 30, 2007 - Surprisingly deep syrah like color. Rewarding earthy nose and smooth tannin mouthfeel. 14%. Closer to a CA PN than a classic Gevrey. Attribute this to hot summer vintage and youth. Sweet and fruit fwd. Big and blends beautifully with reindeer. Another nice example of how 03 Burg are delicious today. October 16, 2006 - good tannins, an effervescent finish, dark inky garnet color, slightly metalic nose, hints of cherry
