August 31, 2021 - Delicious, tasting really good right now !!
A perfect composite cork easily removed after over a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. This bottle was balanced to the acidic side and really needed food. Popped and poured, it opened up quickly. On day two the fruit had diminished and softened a bit. Dark red color with little to no oxidation, with medium clarity . Aromas of black cherry and raspberry. Flavors of black cassis, cola, raspberry framboise, and leather. This Sangiovese has a medium finish. A great fruit source from Honea vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley with a mix of clones; Piccolo for body and structure and Grosso for softness. Another great winemaking effort by Steve Clifton. This age worthy wine may have more years of life left. I still have one more bottle of this vintage remaining in the cellar and will revisit soon to confirm my rating. -

October 23, 2014 - Nice light wine but on the "tart" side. Definitely needs to breath a couple of hours before drinking. Lots & lots of sediment, so be careful!
