January 20, 2019 - Forgotten in my collection. Although past it’s prime, it still had pleasant earthy, leathery note without being musty. The nose and finish were muted but still enjoyable with dark cherry fruit typical of Sangiovese grapes. The tannin were rounded, and although you could tell you were drinking an older wine, it still pleased everyone’s palate. Again an enjoyable surprise from an older low priced screw top Tuscan. Wish I forgot more of these!

April 13, 2015 - An afternoon of Italians (wine and people) (Vince & Lisa's): This is always one of the great values in the wine world. I might have thought it was getting old, but this bottle was fresh and right there. Ruby in color. The nose shows cherries, smoked meats, fresh herbs and some chocolate. On the palate, this has juicy acidity. Slight complexity. Easy to drink. Perhaps its the Cab in it, or perhaps the screw cap, but this is drinking very well at 8 years from vintage.

July 20, 2014 - The Monte Antico Designation is missing on my bottle however it seems to be the same wine. On the producer's homepage there is no Monte Antico designation for this wine. Nose: A hint of cherries, spices, leather. Mouth: Consistent with the nose. A hint of vanilla, too. All in all a pleasant wine from the Tuscany.

November 3, 2012 - Nice wine for the price. Fruit forward and easy to drink. Great with a variety of different flavors. I picked up a hint of plum

June 24, 2012 - Leather and earthy aroma. Fruit forward cherry and tobacco palate. Round and supple. Excellent wine given price paid. Perfect pizza wine. Would buy again just to have an inexpensive Italian red ready for any occasion. 85% Sang, 10% Cab, 5% Merlot.
