January 8, 2022 - This has pretty aromas of fresh cut plum, cigar box, bell pepper, autumnal cedar and spice. Medium weight fruit is still sweet and fresh. Fine tannins are fully melded with the fruit. Plenty of fresh acidity. A very fine 1989 in the twilight of its peak window.

January 5, 2022 - WWC - JD (FWC): Tasted blind - some bricking in the glass; nose of leather and spice/clove, with stewed fruit. On the palate, more stewed red fruit, perfectly integrated tannins and acidity, tasted more fruit than leather, but certainly into tertiary characteristics and quite complex. Guessed an Australian shiraz/cab blend.

January 1, 2022 - Quite perfumed and very lovely nose of dark fruit, tobacco, and cassis. Well balanced with slightly drying but integrated tannins and notes of red fruit and dark cherries. Long finish. Excellent wine and very classic Boredaux.

December 12, 2021 - I really enjoyed this wine, even if it’s not particularly Las Cases or 89 in its presentation. By that, I mean that the wine is somewhat lean in body, lacking some of the depth and weight that I look for in this chateau. It also didn’t have quite the warmth of fruit you sometimes see in 89s. Having said that, the wine is nearly resolved. Very pretty, bright acidity, certainly the most elegant LLC I’ve tasted to date (most similarity to the 99). It was overwhelmed by some big hitters at the table but on its own would be fabulous

November 6, 2021 - Tasted blind. Perfect color. Sadly corked. But guys note: The substance was there, taste was sooo nice. But corked.
But I think that I would buy it, if storage and provenance is solid.

(Château Léoville Las Cases) Deep red garnet color; cedar and leather nose; tasty, mature, cedar, leather, tart cassis palate, very balanced; medium-plus finish
