Community Tasting Notes 5

June 21, 2014 - Very light red colour with orange edges. In the nose red berries including some dried red berries, blood orange, mineral, spice and a hint of leather. Dry on the palate with a rather fruity attack with red berries, quite pronounced minerality, slightly more than medium bodied, quite good acidity, some spice, a hint of bitterness, long and fresh aftertaste with minerality. Foody, elegant and fresh, 88 p.

The last bottle from a 2011 purchase. Mostly similar to my impression in 2012, but slightly less fruity and a bit more spicy, with some dried fruit notes. Has kept well, and the minerality and freshness is still its strong points.

    15.5/20

August 26, 2012 - Appearance: Bright and clear, medium pink in color, with watery rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, medium intensity and having youthful aromas of ripe strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant, ripe red fruit, candy and iris.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine is of medium alcohol and medium body, showing medium (-) intensity flavors of strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant and other red fruit, with medium (-) length.
Conclusion: Good quality mid-priced Rhone Rose with a fairly intense nose showing plenty of ripe and sweet red fruit and floral characters. The palate is less intense and simple, with a fairly short length and some bitterness. Generally in balance, and a typical Rhone rose wine. Ready to drink now and not intend for ageing.

August 3, 2012 - Slightly orange-tinked very light red colour. In the nose strawberries, red currants, blood orange, mineral, some spice and just a hint of leather. Dry tasting with rather fruity attack of red currants and strawberry, slightly more than medium bodied, quite good acidity, slightly spicy, just a tiny hint of bitterness, very clear minerality with mint takes over mid-palate and remains into the long, fresh aftertaste. A food-friendly and elegant rosé of high class.

I think that one year of cellaring has produced a more mineral-dominated and more elegant wine, with slightly less obvious fruit on the palate. It was good last year, but I like it even a little better now.

January 13, 2012 - I served this in my wine course. Light strawberry nose, pleasant bitter finish.
