Community Tasting Notes 12

February 19, 2018 - Inky dark purple, nose of cassis, iodine and blood. Intense fruit, bold body and chewy tannins. Calmed down on night two, probably take a week to come into it's rightful place, plenty of bones to live a long life. Back into the bottle for another night. Three nights later, still pretty intense with just a bit of bitter cane tannins, just not my style, super extracted and no subtlety. Needs some red meat for accompaniment. Final sip on night five and finally gaining some balance.

March 9, 2014 - Cab franc nose comes through. Tannins have softened, but this is still a rich, inky, dark wine. A bit of heat showing, but still enjoyable.

January 12, 2014 - Clear deep dark purple in colour. Clean nose of black currant, spice, and floral. Dry, med acidity, med+ body, elegant tannins, black currant, vanilla, and floral on palate. Nice finish. This was a great wine. A classic example of the great Bordeaux wines coming from Washington. Will definitely be buying this again. Drank over 3 nights, as good on the third night as it was on the first.

September 20, 2013 - Enjoyed with a thick cut NY Strip, grilled Chicago style.

April 28, 2013 - cigarbox and cedar on nose. Long intense fruit; works well
