May 17, 2019 - A pronounced brown tinge to the appearance and aromas of almonds. Drinkable, but barely.

May 14, 2019 - I bought this bottle back in Fall 2012 from Wine Exchange for $28. I wish I would have bought more than I had, as at that time I was really falling for the 2010 Huet and Chidaine Sec cuvees. After almost 7 years, this bottle is humming right along. The color is lightly gold in the glass, no signs though of any oxidation in the aromatic or palate. Drinking this on mostly an empty stomach and the acidity is bright as I can feel that as it goes down. There is a honeyed quality to the palate, along with a deep flavor of tangerine, spicy yellow apple, and a whole bunch of lime flavoring all of it. It finished brightly, with that same vivid acidity and citrusy fruits framing it all up. Gorgeous wine with lots of life left to go. If I run into any more of this down the road, I will reload it back to the cellar as I have just a single 750 left now.

(Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Mont Sec) Residual sugar 9 g/l, alcohol 13.2%. A polished and sweeter feel to the fruit here, gentle with a beautiful purity to it. There is more substance on the palate though; although it still maintains an elegant balance it has a substantial fruit character with great substance and structure too it as well. It is perhaps the most severe of the three sec cuvées, although I think Clos du Bourg comes pretty close in that regard. Certainly showing bags of structure and citrusy acidity on the palate, so from that point of view it certainly is the least approachable.
