May 23, 2021 - Tasted blind, this wine had a red/purple center with orange rims. The medium+ intensity nose offered up plums, cherries, loamy soil, tobacco, and some clove.

This wine was light bodied in the mouth with light tannin, great acidity, and very good length. It was gorgeously refined and developed nicely with air.

The nose on this was a 97. However, it was a bit thin in the mouth if I am nit-picking (and i like refined wines). Thus, while one might argue for 96 points, I am going to go with a conservative 95 overall. This wine is certainly not going to get better. Drink up

October 18, 2019 - Incredible old Bordeaux. So well made and complex.

February 22, 2019 - Fabulous nose of dark chocolate, truffles and camphor. I'm getting some beef bourguignon on the palate with decadent notes of dark chocolate and truffles but plenty of '61 structure underneath. Refined and exotic with a lovely smoky complexity on the finish.

February 20, 2019 - An evening of vinous gems (Benoit): Phenomenal structure. Lots of fresh dark fruit. Nice backbone of acidity. Awesome complexity. This is very classic.
