December 24, 2021 - Fantastic. Paradigmatic old Barolo. Tar, floral notes, red fruit, soupy viscosity. Still bright and bold but secondary and saucy. Rose cherry charcoal delight. Amazing with Christmas Eve braised lamb & cranberry sauce. Heavenly. Have I had better Barolo? Maybe 78, or 71 from same producer, or Conterno or Mascarello. But this is it.

September 17, 2021 - (at Vito's - Baltimore) This is one killer wine that got better and better as the night continued. Light ruby / brick color with a nose full of classic red fruits and rose. Tobacco and celery salt emerge with air - what a complex combination. The palate is bang on - light, long and complex. In a perfect place after 2 hours. (96)

March 7, 2021 - Seemed like it might be a cooked bottle initially upon opening, so we decanted and waited. After an hour or two, it started to really come to life. By hour 3 it was singing, super delicious. Light translucent red, lots of raisin, juicy.

December 25, 2020 - Kongen av Barolo, Bruno Giacosa, i Villero di Castiglione Faletto i det Herrens år 1989 som er en av de beste årgangene. Fikk halvannen time på decanter mens jeg kokkelerte. Umiddelbart tenker jeg på Arnt Egil ‘you need three noses to smell a Barolo’. usedvanlig kompleks på nesen.

July 7, 2019 - What an elegant wine! Double decanted 2.5 hrs before drinking. Amazing, long finish.
