March 11, 2013 - Really fine Volnay, aged perfectly now Full of forest floor and hints of bing cherry.

April 23, 2011 - Beautiful. After a bit of a rocky start - cork was soggy and the bottle lip was crusty - we thought there was going to be a problem. Before our entrees came, the nose was the best thing about it, on the palate it was just missing something. But with the food - delicious! Perfect, wonderful Pinot nose of forest floor and mushroom, following into the palate with dark cherry flavors. Long finish, very smooth, medium weight. I'm making a note to remember this wine - I'll look for this again.

March 6, 2011 - Expressive and rewarding nose. Forest floor and citrus dominate. Palate is not as tight, elegant and lacy as you would expect from a Volnay. Nevertheless, nice tertiary development and sufficiently charming. 3/5 stars.

March 17, 2009 - I am a Burgundy novice so it's hard to write a note. Earthy on the nose, with earth, leather and bitter cherry. Tart in the mouth at first, but so much better with food (consumed with smoked salmon, caper berries, bread, etc) the wine came alive when paired with aforementioned food. The tartness disappeared and the wine was richer and better for it. Leathery. Grippy tannins. A persistent mouth-feel with all kinds of cherry nuances. Hard to pin down specific fruits, this was just a wine that was, and seemed all the better for it.

March 7, 2008 - medium red clear rim small legs light fuit nose with bits of pepper and lemon peel. taste again light with soft tannins some tar and leather but balanced with the fruit. medium pleasing finish - a nice volnay but should be paired with lighter dishes.
