December 24, 2023 - Even better than last bottle. Nearly black color, complex nose. Dark fruits, chocolate. Wonderful length. Will keep more than a decade. Wonderful.

October 28, 2023 - Still a youngster. Deep dark color, nose of sublime complexity. It took 2 hours two hours to open up. Notes of dark berries dominate the palate: black currant, black cherries. Surrounded by dark chocolate, brown mushrooms, mocca, earthy but also balsamic notes. Very present tannins in the long finish, all polished and silky. This wine will definitely last for more than another decade.

December 11, 2022 - My last bottle of the pack I purchased a few years back. Yet this is the best bottle. Has all the qualities of the previous bottles with even smoother well integrated tannin.

November 28, 2018 - At Piccolo Sogno in Chicago with Todd G, this was my contribution for the evening. Decanted at the restaurant, sat for about 30 minutes, drank over an hour.

Medium/dark garnet. Nose showing dark fruits, graphite and herbs, but a bit flat. Palate showing dark fruits, earth notes, mushroom, baking spice. This was showing well early, shut down for a bit. We revisited later, it was good but lacking the depth I remember in prior bottles. I would describe it as a little dried out - the opposite of where I thought it would be an hour+ in.

May be an off bottle and may need more air time to fully open. Will try with next bottle . I am a huge fan of Verite, this bottle had a disapointing showing on this evening

August 20, 2018 - Huge, voluptuous wine that went on and on and on. Best wine I've tasted this year. Decanted for one hour and revealed a brooding, dark color. There is nothing shy about this wine with flavors of dark chocolate, spice, black currants, licorice, lead pencil and forest floor. It actually felt intense on the palate as it blasted you with layers and layers of complexity. A true "tour de force" as RP put it! Probably the best Sonoma wine I've ever tasted!
