Community Tasting Notes 4

September 8, 2012 - Strawberry, game, grapefruit, earth, sour cabbage, and a little raspberry on the nose. Citrus, tart berry, earth, bitter rind, and a little cranberry on the palate. Refreshing and light. Short-ish finish. Very good with food. This says Thanksgiving to me...

February 15, 2012 - Popped and poured tonight. Nose of Oregon pinot-funk, wild raspberry, and some kind of melon. The complexity surprised the hell out of me, not expecting this in a rose. There's lip smacking acidity across the palate, more of that wild berry and distinctly pinot funk going on, and a streak of minerality that came out of nowhere. I also got a cranberry/strawberry thing on the finish. For around $12, this rose delivers far above the price point. Would have broken the 90 point barrier with more defined acidity and liveliness.

February 15, 2012 - Great nose, smells of fresh watermelon, grapefruit, roses, and sour patch kids. Really awesome nose, I dig it. Pretty easy on the palate, some gentle strawberry and watermelon, hints of citrus and raspberry. On its own it holds a nice finish. Great balanced acids, making the mouth water. This is beautiful wine. Fresh, fun, and has enough cool things going on that it's somewhat intellectual. Rad.

September 1, 2011 - Pale pink. Pinot picked for rose. The nose showed a roasted pepper character making me think if this were a black glass tasting I would guess Gruner or Pinot Blanc based on the aromatics. Light bodied, this shows high acidity, subtle melon flavors and some stony minerality. Medium finish. Clean and refreshing. Nice stuff!
