    March 24, 2016 - Not complex but nice,rich,dark, drink

August 21, 2015 - Initially a nose dominated by old aromas of leather and wood which would easily have passed at a wine much older than its 12 years; more like 20-30. The taste did not quite match as tasted brighter albeit a touch bitter. Thankfully overnight the funk blew off and the fruit started to come through more in smell and taste, especially the cherries.
Was 87 first day. Probably a borderline 89/90day two.

February 20, 2014 - very nice-- ditto octopussy comments

January 16, 2013 - Juicy cherry red, no signs of age. In the nose with full cherry aroma, some blackberry, light overtones, mineralic, some earthy funk. On the palate, it's well structured, rather full bodied, soft, but not as soft as many other Beaunes, good grip, nice minerality. Ready to drink, but no need to hurry on this one.

May 14, 2011 - Starting to develop a brick colour rim. Deep purples. Earthy smell. Soft tannins and round on first taste - quite plum and dark fruits with just a hint of mulchy earth in mid-palate. Very nice after couple of hours open. Much better than I had expected - really tasty.

Burgundy-Report

(Bouchard Père et Fils Beaune Clos de la Mousse) Compared to many 2003's this is quite reserved on the nose, more diffuse but deeper than the 2002. The tannins are on a higher level than the two 03's that preceded this (Monthelie and Beaune 1er Clos du Chateau), but we also have an all-round level of sophistication not found in those wines. An excellent 2003.
