September 10, 2021 - Expressive nose with an overtly smoky overlay, meaty, savory. Well measured palate, they really got the balance right in this vintage. Popular at the table with the Osso Bucco. A bit too much smoke in the aroma profile, from a barrel type they use?

August 19, 2020 - Ruby going garnet color. Medium + nose.
stewed Blackcurrants, blackberry, black cherry, jam, slight gamey.

March 13, 2020 - A highly aromatic nose of red and blue currants, cassis, coffee, oak, violets and herbs. Very plush texture on the entry, filled with soft red currant fruits, fine acidity, smooth oak, coffee, vegetal undergrowth, leather, and earth. Medium bodied with very fine and supple tannins, drinking very well right now, though lacking on the length and finish.

February 7, 2020 - 2004 Château Rouget was complex and fully mature. The mature Pomerol was clear medium garnet in colour with lots of sediments and deep amber rim. The nose was typical of mature Bordeaux with leather, anise and dried tangerine zest, followed by red plum and coffee. The mouthfeel was dry and medium-bodied, with medium level of balancing acidity and medium level of chalky tannin. The long finish had flavours of liquorice, blueberries and spices. It was a pity that the tannin did not attain the melting texture of fine Bordeaux wines, while the garnet colour and the receding fruit notes prohibited further bottle ageing. Having said that, it was an enjoyable and a highly respectable bottle of mature Pomerol.

July 16, 2017 - Deep dark colour and quite a solid coat of glycerine.
Good Pomerol nose including slate, prune and toasted cinnamon.
Palate of tight tannins. Chocolate and sour bing cherry as well. Short but well balanced rich finish.
    Great value.
    Still truckin'......
