    April 15, 2024 - Jonathan’s 2004 Bordeaux (Hawksmoor, Guildhall, London): 3/12, crumbly cork. Decanted 1/2 hour.
Shows red and lack berry fruit, smoky, cedar notes. Quite aromatic. Medium bodied, red and black berries, cedar, smoke, no more than middleweight, fresh acids, tannins a touch dry on the medium/good length finish. Very good indeed, drinking well, no hurry.

April 15, 2024 - Bordeaux 2004 20 years on Part 2 (Hawksmoor Guildhall): Lovely subtle nose, pure and precise cassis, excellent restraint here. There is a leafy green element, and a hint of vanilla caramel, it's a properly classical old school graves that is fully in the zone and drinking beautifully. Everything is balanced, cool and dialled back. I don't find it particularly exciting, but that's not really the point here.

April 15, 2024 - Jonathan's 2004 Bordeaux Check In (Hawksmoor Guildhall, London, UK): Lovely wine. Served with a Rauzan Segla of the same vintage. Pungent green tobacco leaf, some damp forest glade greeness, some pencil shavings and the faintest hint of ashtray. Palate is cool fruited with some posh milk chocolate flecks.

June 20, 2022 - Very nice and pretty much in an ideal drinking window. Beautiful tannins and mouth feel with substantial length.

November 25, 2021 - Slow O'd for a 90 minutes. The first poured of two aged Bordeaux at a Thanksgiving meal. The fruit is restrained here, in the way of Pessac-Leognan, making it excellent with food; the earthier notes make a nice complement to the turkey-based meal.
