April 28, 2024 - Same as last note; for me, hits the Chablis spot hard. My last 750, two magnums on the shelf for further research.
June 29, 2023 - This was excellent - one of the very best Chablis I've enjoyed at any classification and plainly better than most of the Louis Michel wines - my other favorite Chablis vigneron . Classic, pure tanginess, nicely articulated, well-proportioned. Last and best bottle of four purchased on release. Not in any way past its prime, but, I think, might be approaching the far side of its plateau. Two mags remain. Picq!
November 17, 2021 - The streak continues; I've never had a Picq I didn't like.
This is really dense for a Chablis; grand cru density. The texture is Meursault-like. If it weren't for the oyster shell minerality and acidity, "chablis" would have been a hard call. Still, a beautiful wine. Creamy mandarin and lemon, pear, long finish, good balance.
September 11, 2021 - This wine has travelled well in the last two years. Pulling the cork releases generous Chardonnay fruit aromas, even at arm's length. Initially, it almost seems to have some baby fat still, which is odd, but it's balanced out rapidly with the firm acidity of a well-made 1er cru Chablis. With more time, the overt padding recedes, leaving a more-classic Chablis profile of good depth, intensity, and some complexity, albeit still slightly generous in its textural depth, good, swampy tang. This is eminently drinkable now, but it's firm substance makes me think it will continue to develop favorably for at least another year or two, maybe longer. I have magnums, which I can allow to rest a while longer, when I look forward to enjoying a treat together with good friends.
Ah for the day when a good really good 1er Chablis could be gotten for $25.
June 5, 2021 - 1ère soirée estivale dans la cour post déconfinement: Magnum. Encore une fois impressionnée et émue par ce vin. Il se réchauffe vite en raison du temps estival mais conserve une fraîcheur, une finesse à travers les arômes de fruits mûrs du verger. Excellent!
March 10, 2021 - (Mag) I’ve had good luck with ‘10s recently, and this continues the streak Sweet apple, blood orange, some seashell, nice ripeness but balanced by good acidity, which leads into long minerally finish. A-/B+

August 30, 2020 - Nez discret mais charmeur délicatement iodé. Magnifique bouche qui se montre en finesse, avec une belle fraîcheur, c’est aérien et crayeux. En pleine forme mais à boire sans trop tarder. Délicieux. 92 pts
August 30, 2020 - Amazing showing at 10 years, with great acidity, freshness, ripe orchard fruit, slightly rich mid palate with a fine will integrated finish. Blind I would have guessed 2-3 years old, fun 92+
April 11, 2020 - Apparently my last go with this was in 2017 but I failed to leave a note. Last note was from 2013. It was a very soft, round gentle Chablis on this round. More butter than tension but still elegant and a little salty. Nice wine. Two left. I think I'll probably leave one to check down the road and drink the other soon.
