The tannins were there, but in the background until the bottle had been open for a few hours, at which point they made themselves known. 92-93ish

  April 18, 2016 - HdR Opening Tasting: Nice to see Macario again and he was pouring his 08. His first and maybe my favorite vintage of his Syrah. Its got plenty of fruit, but I love that juicy acidity. Showing some complexity. Medium tannins. Drinking great but no hurry.

  January 23, 2014 - This is maturing amazingly well. With time in the glass it really fleshes out. Mint, dark fruits, minerals all waft from the glass. The palate is fleshy but perfectly balanced.
