Community Tasting Notes 2

December 31, 2019 - P&P. With pasta bolognaise. Have had these in the cellar for around 8 years, they were overly sweet & ripe in their youth. Age has been very kind indeed, though. Dirty dirty dirty on the nose on opening, even more so with a swirl around the glass. Barnyard & sweaty socks turned up to 11.. This transfigured to beautiful sour cherry complexity in the mouth, though - fresh & round, correct acidity & gentle tannin, in the very best burgundian tradition. I'm amazed and underscoring this wine, if anything. Sometimes dirty is good.

August 1, 2011 - Bulgarian Pinot ? I'll try that. Give the wine at least 1 hr to air and the nose is soft and fragrant of dark cherry, caramel and some coastal salt. Palate is smooth and quite ripe, fair acidity, but lacks some thing in the middle. Easy drinking mid weeker.
