December 6, 2014 - This is a very good Priorat. Nice and dry but with a hint of fruit. Great with pork loin.

December 6, 2013 - Had it again, this time at a Spanish wine tasting. Again not ultimately convincing I must say. Somehow to 'sour', probably still too much acidity in it for my taste. If this is the style of this wine then it is not my style.
The nose is very good but the palate is rather "okay" in my opinion. Considering the price I would not go for that one again. See my previous note.

October 10, 2013 - Often recommended, often mentioned, the GR-174. Offered in our company`s shop, it was a recommendation of our sommelier. 15€ here in Germany and I gave it a try. First of all, the presence of Cab-Sauv is obvious, you can smell it. To me that was the most positive about this wine because I did not find it ultimately convincing.
The nose shows great aromas of ripe cherry, oak, vanilla and mocha combined with gentle hints of leather, cassis and herbs. Medium intense but super. 87
The palate had too much acidity for me and lacked a little smoothness. Spicy, pretty adstringent mouthfeel, present acidity, berry notes. 84
Medium body and finish, not very alcoholic smell and taste. Was best on day 3, decanting for 1h might do it.
A good wine but not more, and too expensive for what's offered. Have had better Spanish blends for less than 10€.

    September 21, 2013 - Still purplish.
Nose is aggressively fruity and has a distinct character of liver paste.
In the mouth this is, today, Grenache driven with quite a fine balance between spice-raspberries-raisins and this being a wine. CS not on stage tonight. Quite promising but my memory said there would be tannins, however, they were not here. Acids are M+ and body is fine. Reasonably layered and the kind of youthful complexities that may or may not manifest themselves later on.
    Home dinner, wife: 91p.
If we had one more, final btl, I'd gamble it to be very interesting in 2019.

April 6, 2012 - Raisins on the nose, heavy fruit and some tannins, blue wine. Killed the moose meat we had for dinner with all the fruit and alcohol.
