August 20, 2010 - Oregon Pinots with the Wine Thursday group at WWS (Willamette Wine Storage - Portland, OR): The nose on this showed age, old musty plums, potpourri, grapefruit and sweet raspberries. Smelled really nice. The palate was a bit of a let down comparatively, sharp acidity stick out right at the start. Starts off with some nice red and dark fruit but drops off quickly leaving a bit of heat detectable. The age here is really playing nice though, with the initial fruit it is showing some minor evolution across the palate while it stick around. This drank better if you just put it down rather than swishing it around the mouth and really examining it. Very good wine, just not in balance.

August 19, 2010 - Oregon Pinot Noir 1997-2005 (Willamette Wine Storage - Portland, OR): Some great salami scents show on the nose along with subtle blackberries and stems, and a faint caramel note. It's clean and clear from the start. Raspberries and blackberries show together on the mid palate. The structure builds as you build toward the finish. The tannins make an appearance late, some faint vanilla shows, and the acidity leaves a mouth watering "juicy" feeling behind. 89+

August 19, 2010 - 1997-2005 Oregon Pinot Noir (Willamette Wine Storage): Older aromas, nice acid funk, mushrooms covered in funky berries. Very pleasing palate, tart acid, funk, berries, and bitter acid. Strange finish, as the acid is quite funky and disrupts the balance of this wine... would be a point or two higher if it weren't for the off balanced finish. Guessed 1997.

February 18, 2009 - Alive and vibrant, palate is mainly earth and lacking fruit. Drink now as it is definitely on it's last legs.
