Community Tasting Notes 1

September 12, 2013 - Medium ruby with a nearly opaque core fading to a watery meniscus. Viscosity is medium plus with thin medium moving tears down the side.At first the wine hits the nose with darker red fruit like raspberry and black cherry leading into more vegetable like notes, green bell pepper sticking out. A fair bit of alcohol on the nose along with non fruit flavors that I can't really place. Perhaps some flowers, no signs of new oak. On the palate: wine is bone dry with firm tannin with a fair amount of grip on the finish. Wine starts off by kind of hollow with faint hints of strawberries and Rainier cherries. After swallowed, however, dark fruit and mineral flavors take over. Medium bodied, medium acidity (perhaps medium plus), medium alcohol.
