    December 15, 2016 - nice aged pinot

March 29, 2016 - Didn't take contemporaneous notes on this bottle, but it had a nice mineral/sagebrush undertonality with wild berries on top. Well integrated, seamless transition from nose to palate, if a bit one dimensional and slightly sour on the back end (after dinner, anyway). 91-92

June 7, 2012 - As a pop-n-pour, this is one of the best young Pinot's I've ever had. Lush floral smell and taste that was seriously tasty and enjoyable, without being overbearing, and a great balance of acidity and weight. Very much ready to drink and could be the highlight of a very fun meal.

As others have noted, it tastes very different after a day or two, even in very good storage conditions (rebottled immediately after opening in a 250ml bottle filled to the rim and refrigerated). The tartness becomes much more prominent and the floral notes fade dramatically. Still a good wine, but nothing really notable. Not really sure how this will age. I have two bottles and will look forward to another taste in a few years.

May 19, 2012 - Santa Cruz Mountain Trip (Windy Oaks, Alfaro Family, Big Basin): Tasted at the winery. Clear ruby color. Cherry aromas with a bit of spice (cinnamon?) hiding underneath. Overall, it was smooth and elegant with lots of minerality and cherry on the palate. Had a flinty/rocky quality that permeated everything. Very nice texture with a decent finish.
