Community Tasting Notes 5

January 10, 2024 - In the bouquet some earthy, rustic and autumn forest impressions. Some licorice as well. On the palate juicy red and dark berries, a lot of licorice, good acidity and sticky tannin. Good touch of oak and very tasty and juicy. Although there are some early signs of maturity there is plenty of room for more ageing and improvement for the better. 92 – 93+ for now.

December 24, 2021 - Funky to say the least. I hope this was a spoiled bottle. Not corked, but funky, in a bad way.

    October 11, 2018 - (Blind tasting)
Full, fat, oaky nose. Buttery. Dark fruit, bramble, very oaky. Some mint and animally notes of meat stock.
Fullish, minerally palate. Black plum, tannic and stony. Good density of fruit. Tobacco and chocolate. Gives impression of both warm climate and cool climate. Long finish and good balance.
Can be held longer. Will be even better in 5 years.

October 20, 2017 - Excellent Madiran. Deep purple color, depth, balance, long aftertaste, cellar & grapes.

April 21, 2017 - Structure of plutonium, not a crack in armor even after 6 hours in the glass. What a powerhouse. Not a sucker for the style but this is excellent!! Explosive nose with raspberry, licorice, butter, cream and hints of blueberry. Perfectly balanced, rich flavours, high fruit concentration, round, smooth, high acidity. Has great depth!!
