July 11, 2020 - Jeroboam. Earthy fruit, some dirty soil, sweet palate, really pinching precision but end up thin for CDLR. Deep finish. 92-93

December 28, 2019 - Opened far too early, needs 5 years or so , lovely juice , colour but tannin not yet intergrated , spots uneven.

June 1, 2019 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind Australian Wine (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind. Clearly Burgundy. An odd bottle, this seemed massively reductive to start and I couldn't get past that sulfur note. While the reduction slowly dissipated, the fruit started seeming dull and stripped with more air.

May 8, 2013 - Very elegant wine with vivid hue and limpidity. Quite complex still at this stage, with good balance between acidity and tannin (unlike his 2009 Bonnes Mares, for instance, where the tannins are still raw and over-whelming). Bernstein's tendency to over-oak didn't come across as strongly in this wine as some of the others I have tasted (e.g. 2008 Clos Vougeot and 2009 Bonnes Mares). Good fruit at the front of the palate, minerality and bite, with a long sweet finish. Not sure the price (circa £2,200 per case of 12) is fully merited - but this is the best of Bernstein's reds I have yet tasted.

February 18, 2013 - Olivier Bernstein Masterclass with Olivier (Les Amis - Shaw Centre): Alcohol :: 13.5%
Cassis, plum and blackberry fruits complex with savory, umami, tea leaves and meatiness. Full bodied, absolutely intriguing with great complexity even at this young this. The harmony here is top class with good sense of elegance and finesse. Lovely wine here, the tannin is firm and huge, but so well integrated, refreshing and delicious. Very long with good drive and persistency. This will continue to grow in the bottle. 92-94
