October 13, 2013 - My last bottle of this was opened in 2009 and I rated the wine highly then. Still enjoyable, but maybe just past peak drinking. Still a northern rhone ringer. Finish was very slightly bitter and clipped, but still a very good wine. My last bottle.

November 7, 2012 - Big wine. There was a bit of funk at first that was right at the edge for me. Blew off, but remained edgy. By funk, in this case I mean a tendency to overripe almost stewed fruit. There were no vegetal aromas. Laster the nose was of deep plum and over ripe raspberries. Almost a liquor quality. zIn the mouth the fruit dominated. There wasn't much structure or acidity. The finish was moderate and fruit dominated. The fruit was over-ripe and not crisp or acidic. Had this with grilled marinated chicken thighs. It was an OK match, but truth be told this is a wine best enjoyed on it's own. Perhaps some breads and cheeses. Not a great match for dinner foods. All that being said, I liked it, just wish it was a bit more food friendly in a structural sort of way.

May 21, 2011 - Nice, pure medium cerise color. Lovely syrah nose of bacon fat and red berries. On the palate, pure and jammy syrah fruit, with some black pepper. Not overly complex, but clean and balanced, save for a bit of heat (14%) that made it a bit tedious and a tough pairing with food.

September 26, 2010 - Roy’s: Intriguing, lovely nose of balsamic, coffee, asian sauces (whatever that is), and underlying pomegranate-cherry fruit; This was rich, full bodied, intense, but incredibly balanced and not heavy compared to the wines that followed. Is the exotic aspect of this wine due to the juice of this vintage, or the age
