March 22, 2020 - This wine gets more elegant and pleasurable every time I open a bottle. Raspberry and spice. Great weight. Long finish. No booziness. Wow.
On release I never expected this fruit bomb to turn into this.

December 28, 2019 - Just providing an updated tasting note on this golden oldie. Totally agree on the raisiny essence of this experience, with Amarone coming to mind on more than one sip. Not overly hot as i get the sense that some of the alcohol has integrated. Very pleasant but one-dimensional. Not a revelation, but capable of great pleasure.

November 18, 2018 - (Tasted at the winery.) Finally hitting its stride. Rich, ripe and open for business in a big way. Beautifully elegant — regal? — with a distinctive apricot, blackberry compote nose and palate. Smoky campfire and black licorice in the finish. Beautifully integrated with more and more going on the longer it sits in the glass. Drink now to 2025.

December 31, 2017 - Well past its prime. Very heavy and almost like a port. Glad we did not have it with food.

December 6, 2015 - Spicy, peppery with cherry and dark raisin . This wine still holds well after 18 years. It's probably over its peak. Nice and mellow, but somewhat murky now. Very smooth tannis. All around flavored on the palate. Very nice finish.
