July 16, 2020 - Better on day two

May 10, 2020 - Too young - very tight BUT after pouring only 1 glass and letting rest corked in the bottle for 24 hours causes this wine to blossom. Score for pop & pour 89, after 24 hours 95

January 19, 2018 - Decanted to remove sediment and provide 2 hours of air which helped significantly as this is a massive wine. Color is opaque black with purple rim. Nose of scorched earth, leather, blackberries, tar, and liquorish. Palate full bodied, richly extracted, texture smooth early and middle, evolving fine tannin, acid, and some alcohol on the long finish. Superb wine, best with food.

November 4, 2015 - A blend of 50% Nebbiolo and 50% Barbera. Decanted 5 hours before tasting, which it needed. My friend said that the balance of the bottle was drinking better the next day. Black colour, purple at the rim. Huge legs (15% alc). A bit of VA on bouquet, also dark chocolate, dark berries and espresso. Plenty of vanillin oak, yet to integrate. On palate, a lot of unctuous, very rich and ripe fruit, dark cherries, blackberries, liquorice and tar. Very Modernist. Quite extracted and primary with serious oak yet to integrate. It seemed reasonably balanced but with a bit of alcohol heat on the back palate.
