January 28, 2022 - Waited to long - wine was flat and tasteless

April 29, 2021 - Was using the coravin on this bottle for a while and a friend stopped over to I pulled the cork on the remaining third of a bottle and we had a glass. Dark fruit and chocolate on the nose. The palate is dark berries, plums and mocha. Finish is moderate to long. Still drinking well at 12 years old.

February 13, 2021 - Nose: Cherry liquor, cedar, chocolate and alcohol. The nose is hot, and grows a bit medicinal. Palate: Entry is loaded with gorgeous chocolate dipped cherry, kirsch and cocoa but the mid palate drops off and heat and oak flavors take over. Finish: mocha and heat with a bit of fig, cherry and oak. Angular tannins in the finish.

Has its moments, but ends up a bit porty. The heat detracts for me at each phase.

September 28, 2020 - Well in January 2017 I drank a bottle and at the end of the review I wrote that "sadly my only bottle". Over the next months I was able to get 4 more and drank one this past week. At 11 years old it is drinking beautifully. Dark fruit and hints of chocolate on the nose. The palate is dark fruit, ripe red berries and mocha. A moderate to long finish made this a totally enjoyable wine and this time I am happy to say I have 3 more in my cellar.

May 16, 2020 - Tasted it may 2020. Wonderful wine. Could wait more to drink it but the tannins are perfect!
