March 28, 2022 - Prior bottle was nearly 5 months ago and this bottle showed a bit better, in line with my earlier, prior bottles. White peach, white apple and other mixed orchard fruit on the nose along with floral qualities. More aromatic and few to no honey notes on the nose as compared to my bottle from November 2021. Medium bodied with white peach and white apple upfront, with highlights of pear. Gains density through the middle and adds more expressive notes of apple and peach and then the pineapple, mango and orange behind. Finishes with mixed citrus notes and vibrant acidity. The big difference between this bottle and my one from November 2021 was the acidity. In my bottle tonight, it was lively and bright, providing excellent tension on the backside, the balanced needed with the more tropical qualities and helping to create the overall definition to allow the various elements to show their best. While my bottle from November 2021 seemed a bit more tropical focused and a bit softer and more open, (all due to lower acidity), my bottle tonight showed better complexity and depth because the acidity was more present. If this bottle is indicative, this wine has quite a number of years ahead of it and it's worth buying more if the opportunity presents.

November 10, 2021 - Prior bottle was four and a half years ago and while this wine continues to show well, it doesn't quite reach the heights of my first few bottles. White peach, honey and floral notes on the nose. Between medium and full bodied with a generally similar flavor profile to my prior bottles: (i) white orchard fruits upfront (especially peach and pear with some more rounded apple behind), (ii) good density through the middle and lots of tropical notes (pineapple, mango and orange) and (iii) an overlay of honey that slides back and forth between a sweeter impression and a more tart version. Acidity still provides good structure and even liveliness, but is just slightly less vibrant than before. Overall, this wine is still in a great spot as it evolves and has the fruit and structure to drink well for many years to come.

May 10, 2019 - Weird. Not as memorable as the first bottle. Much like a shut down phase. Pleasant enough with spicy food. Decent petrol, White florals and a massive apple, citrus and tropical fruit blend meshed with acidity. I guess it could be called grapey as well which I don’t really associate with decent Riesling.

I think I would hold these another few years. It could just be a dull period. It happens.

April 28, 2017 - My prior bottle was only eight months ago but I just couldn't resist opening another. Beautiful nose of stone fruit, crunchy peach and floral qualities. Above medium bodied (7.5% ABV) with tremendous richness and depth, backed by powerful, but balanced acidity. Opened at 48F, warming to 52F and showed the best on the cooler side as the warmer it became, the more honey notes started to creep into the background. Identical flavor notes (with similar complexity) to my prior bottle where it started off in the orchard fruit realm (peach, pear and apple), gained a lot of richness and started to show tropical notes (pineapple, mango and orange) and while all of these had background acidity, the real thing came out towards the back along with the citrus notes (green melon, lemon, lime, tart orange, tart peach). Finishes quite long with slate and mineral qualities dominant. Strengths remain it's impressive complexity and its excellent acidity which kept even this huge amount of fruit in balance. Part of me is sad that this was my last bottle as it will last for years. The other part of me was very glad I got to enjoy it at this young stage. I'll just have to find some more!
