January 15, 2024 - Not sure of the decant time tonight. Deep Time = 48 months in barrel. Dark magenta in the glass.

Rich nose of cassis, graphite, red fruit, orange rind and caramelized cedar. The palate is rather lighter in weight than expected and very saline driven with red fruit and graphite. Very surprising. Score: Nose 96, palate 91 averaging it to a 93-94 at best. We pondered over whether these 'Deep Time' wines are worth it? Our feeling.....extra barrel aging probably ages the wines even faster than they would in bottle so this '09 might be really an '04? It's thin and its fruit gets more tart as it gets more air.....I wouldn't hold these any longer unless you enjoy that profile.

March 25, 2023 - Requires at least an hour of decanting to open up and approach its potential. Not as impressed as I have been with comparable HA Wraith bottles.

August 6, 2021 - Had at winery with Burges. Just a deep monster wine that even with 11 years it’s still a big wine. Need another 5-7 years on it.

April 29, 2021 - Had with a steak dinner and against a 2013 Ovid Hexameter. While I know these wines are huge this deep time is just enormous! Lots of baby fat fruit on the front palate. Almost chewy. But after one hour it started to slowly settled down. Lots of black fruit and chocolate but still was a little sharp for me. Nice finish. I think these wines need to lay down more.
