  May 16, 2013 - Slightly opaque deep ruby in colour. The predominant oak notes of smoke, vanilla, charcoal at first sniff, get equilibrated after a 15-20 minutes of decanting and integrate with attractively ripe black cherry, black plum and cranberry aromas. A complexity is gained by the accompanying green bell pepper, wet pebblestone, rust notes and some underlying animal aromas like leather. Medium to full bodied. Supple, elegantly tasty with a fresh structure. The distinct acidity is well balanced with alcohol and fruit. Even though the remarkable pureness on the palate, its medium length finish is unfortunately dominated by dry tannins which affects it in a negative manner.

  April 6, 2013 - (from memory) Dark ruby, raspberry, cherry, baking soda and hints of char on the nose, palate is suave with dark red fruit, allspice, black pepper and well integrated tannins, finish is long and complex with notes of earth, mixed berries and cherry liqueur
